THANK YOU Staunton CUSD #6 residents for voting on the bond proposal. Unofficial results from the election showed 56.53% voting in favor of the proposal in Macoupin County and 56.16% voting in favor of the proposal in Madison County. A 50% majority was required for the measure to pass.
The bond issue will fund projects to address critical facility needs, with a primary focus on the high school. Updated classrooms and labs will be built to improve the learning environment for students. The improvements will also include enhanced safety and accessibility.

Mr. Korte's Class held a mock election today to parallel this year's upcoming election on Nov. 5th. Students in 5th-8th completed a full cycle of the voting process, from registration to casting their own ballots. Not only did they organize & execute the election procedures, but they also were able to understand the importance and power of their voting rights!

➤ Replace the oldest parts of our high school with a 20-classroom, 2-story addition
➤ Construct a new auxiliary gym that includes seating for 500, lockers and a performing arts stage
➤ Provide air conditioning in the main gym
➤ Relocate bus parking
➤ Update bus drop off to enhance safety for students
➤ Provide new furniture and equipment in the new building

It's time for the Patriot's Pen Essay Contest!
This youth essay competition gives 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. Prizes and scholarships are available to students based on entry into this particular contest. Essays can be dropped off at the SJHS office by Friday, October 31 - no later. Please see the attached images for more information!
