Congratulations to SHS Sophomore Nicholas Monahan (all-state orchestra), Junior Katie Cook (all-state choir), Senior Jonathan Baker (all-state choir) and Sophomore Taylor Sorrell (all-state honors choir) for their selection and participation in the 2023 Illinois Music Educator’s Association All-State Festival! A process which began back in October, students audition for the All-District ensembles located throughout 9 different geographic regions in the state. Students whom place high enough are then selected to further represent their districts at the state level, performing alongside the top musicians in the state. This amazing accomplishment is the result of lots of hard work and dedication and is a huge honor! Congratulations to all!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
As we move into the second semester, please make every effort to make attendance a priority. The second semester is a busy time with Illinois State required testing, PROM, graduation, promotion, etc. We want to make sure that students are in school and preparing to close out the year in a positive manner.
The district also receives a portion of our overall rating from the state from student attendance. If possible, please schedule doctor appointments and vacations to a time that does not interfere with your student being able to attend their classes. We understand that situations arise, and we do not want you to send your child to school if they are suffering from illness.
We are excited to work with families and students for a successful completion to the school year and we are requesting your cooperation helping with your children’s success by having them be present for the second semester.
Thank you for your continued efforts and support of the Staunton School District. #LeadChallengeAchieve
Sincerely,
Staunton School Administration

Reminder that if you were absent for semester exams, that you need to come to school tomorrow (1/4) and arrange to take those semester exams that were missed.
