Final Exam Policy
All SHS students are required to participate in final exams except for 2nd semester seniors.
The final exam schedule will take place on the final two days of each semester and ALL students will be in attendance.
A final exam will be given in each course to every student at SHS at the scheduled time listed below.
Semester exams content and style are up to the teacher’s discretion. The final exam can be a traditional test, project, presentation, or paper and will assess the cumulative knowledge of the student for the semester.
Not including Dual Credit Courses, all finals will count as 20% of the semester grade. All quarters are worth 40% each.
Students choosing not to take their final exam will earn a “0”.
No students are to be released early during exam periods. Periods and times are as follows:

1st Hour: 8:10 a.m. - 9:25 a.m. 5th Hour: 8:10 a.m. - 9:25 a.m.
2nd Hour: 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. 6th Hour: 9:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
3rd Hour: 10:50 a.m. - 12:05 p.m. 7th Hour: 10:50 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.
LUNCH 12:05 p.m. - 12:40 p.m. *High School Released at 12:05 p.m.
4th Hour: 12:45 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
*High School Released at 2:00 p.m.

6th grade volleyball practice will be from 5 to 630 tomorrow evening. The location is TBA.

Today we conducted a routine dog training in conjunction with the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department. The dogs were brought through the Junior High and High School and were not taken through the elementary building. We appreciate the cooperation of staff and students during the training. Our goal is to provide a drug free learning environment for both staff and students.

Attention Junior High Volleyball
6th grade tryouts will now take place in the community room on Monday, November 28th from 3:15-4:15 and on Wednesday, November 30th in the old gym at the same time.
If you are a 6th grader that is part of the 7th grade basketball team, you will come to the 7th grade tryouts in the old gym from 4:15-5:30 that Monday.
8th grade tryouts will now be held on Wednesday, November 30th in the old gym from 4:15-5:30 and Thursday, December 1st in the multi purpose gym from 3:15-4:15.

At the November Board of Education meeting, 6th-12th grade band and choir students were recognized for their recent participation in the ILMEA Festival held at WIU. Great job students! Additionally the Sitko Family was recognized for their donation to the Art Program in memory of David Sitko. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Last night the 7th Grade Lady Terriers basketball team finished their regular season at a perfect 19-0 with a 25-12 win over Greenville. They finish the season as Conference champions and have clinched the #1 seed for the regional tournament. The Terriers have received a bye for the first round of play and will play in the second round on Monday (11/21) at 6:00pm.

Staunton Families: The Macoupin County Public Health Department is hosting a Dental Clinic December 6th - December 8th at Staunton Schools in the Mobile Dental Unit.
