What is better than a group of kids caught doing the right thing? One group raked the baseball field after kids were playing on it and picked up the trash. Another group cleaned the gym after a basketball game.

SHS Fact About School Attendance. Absenteeism in the first months of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.


The Staunton High School Homecoming Parade will be departing the St. Michael's parking lot at 1:15 PM on Friday, October 1. Parade Route--Main Street to Route 4 to Lafayette to Deneen. Take a half-day and join us along the Parade Route to show your Bulldog Pride.

Soccer lost last night 3-1 to Litchfield with Rhyse Rucker scoring in the 73rd minute assisted by Dillon Pritchett.

Volleyball won against Pana last night. Both JV and Varsity had to come back after dropping the first set. Varsity also had to come from behind in the 3rd set after falling behind 11-18 and 15-20.

The Boy's Golf Team came in second yesterday at Oak Terrace. Broc Best led the Bulldogs with a 42, Denney shot a 45, and Hines shot a 51.

Attention SHS Seniors & Parents of Seniors. A financial aid manager from SIUE will be on campus Thursday, September 23rd, to give a presentation to all seniors in the auditorium during 1st hour. The first day to file your 2022-23 FAFSA is October 1st! Public Act 101-180requires that, public high school students must complete the FAFSA or, as eligible, the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid, as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma.


The Boy's Golf team won last night and Best was the medalist with a 39. Denney shot a 41 and Hines and Moore shot a 46. The Girl's team also won last night with Tuetken and Weller both shooting a 49, Meyer 52, and TJaden a 54.

Saturday's XC results from Oak Hill were Luketich and Monohan leading the way for the boy's team and Kinder placing 7th for the girl's team.
