State Senator Steve McClure reached out to area schools for kids interested in attending a Youth Advisory Council. Four students (Victoria Partridge, Aiden Green, Elliott Frank, and Cheyenne Butcher) volunteered to represent Staunton. It has been a big week for SHS Volleyball! A big congrats to both the Varsity & JV Girls for securing an SCC Conference Championship and keeping the streak alive, and Coach Jeanene Lucykow for surpassing the 500 wins mark in her career. The Staunton CUSD 6 Bond Proposal asks the community to consider providing funds to: ➤ Replace the oldest parts of our high school with a 20-classroom, 2-story addition ➤ Construct a new auxiliary gym that includes seating for 500, lockers and a performing arts stage ➤ Provide air conditioning in the main gym ➤ Relocate bus parking ➤ Update bus drop off to enhance safety for students ➤ Provide new furniture and equipment in the new building We have the opportunity to ensure our children and community continue to thrive for years to come. 🐾 Stay informed, stay involved. One of the best things about being a K-12 district is getting to see the interactions between our older and younger students and the impact they can make on each other! Mr. Laughlin's Construction I class built gaga ball pits next to the playground for our younger students to enjoy. Since they were built, 3rd grade has spent a lot of time out there! To thank the gaga ball pit builders, they wrote and decorated thank you messages and posed questions to ask the high school students. Mr. Laughlin's students then visited the 3rd grade classrooms to answer questions the younger students had written. The high school students left with a poster containing all the thank you messages the 3rd grade students wrote. We love being a K-12 district! #TerrierPride #BulldogPride #LeadChallengeAchieve

Senior students and parents: Come in and get help with the FAFSA on Wednesday evening. This is a State of Illinois requirement for graduation. We will answer any questions you may have and help get you started.   Freshman and Sophomore students and parents: Do you want to know how to plan for your post high school goals? Set yourself up for success and attend our presentation on Oct. 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 in the Auditorium. We will discuss requirements for work release, trade certifications, dual credit, and concurrent enrollment through Lewis and Clark. We will have people who can answer your questions and make sure your students are on the right track as they go through their remaining high school years. We hope to see you there!
