The Honor Guard, in its inaugural year, graced the students with the presentation of colors as they marched through the halls of SCUSD #6. One could hear a pin drop as they made their way through. THANK YOU Staunton CUSD #6 residents for voting on the bond proposal. Unofficial results from the election showed 56.53% voting in favor of the proposal in Macoupin County and 56.16% voting in favor of the proposal in Madison County. A 50% majority was required for the measure to pass. The bond issue will fund projects to address critical facility needs, with a primary focus on the high school. Updated classrooms and labs will be built to improve the learning environment for students. The improvements will also include enhanced safety and accessibility. Mrs. Klein, Mrs. Muffler, & Mrs. Spickerman’s 5th grade ELA classes wrapped up their poetry unit with a Poetry Jam! Students shared an original poem with the class and partners, and enjoyed cookies and juice. They shared “snaps” to celebrate each young author! One of the best things about being a K-12 district is getting to see the interactions between our older and younger students and the impact they can make on each other! Mr. Laughlin's Construction I class built gaga ball pits next to the playground for our younger students to enjoy. Since they were built, 3rd grade has spent a lot of time out there! To thank the gaga ball pit builders, they wrote and decorated thank you messages and posed questions to ask the high school students. Mr. Laughlin's students then visited the 3rd grade classrooms to answer questions the younger students had written. The high school students left with a poster containing all the thank you messages the 3rd grade students wrote. We love being a K-12 district! #TerrierPride #BulldogPride #LeadChallengeAchieve
