Friday at approximately 10 a.m. (before practice) we will have the Parade of Graduates as we have done in years past. We need Seniors here at 9:45 a.m. WITH their caps and gowns. Students will be encouraged to come out and cheer on our graduates as the drumline escorts them in front of the school (pending good weather). If weather becomes an issue, we will move it inside. Parents are welcome to come and cheer on the Class of 2025! Students MUST be in attendance at practice in order to participate in the ceremony on Sunday. #LeadChallengeAchieve

Below is the letter that was given to Seniors today. April 25, 2025 Dear Seniors, Your high school education will conclude with graduation on Sunday, May 18th at 2:00 PM in the gym. We are proud to have been associated with you during your education at Staunton High School. We want to make graduation a dignified occasion for you, your family, and relatives. It is important that you assist us in making this event a serious and formal occasion. There has been a trend in many high schools to create disruptions during graduation exercises. An appropriate celebration (confetti, etc.) after graduation is acceptable. However, disruptions during exercises could interfere with the individual recognition of each graduate. Please make sure any celebration is at the proper time in an appropriate manner. Since students are not required to attend graduation to receive their diploma, we do ask that you conform to our requests. Caps and gowns will be worn for the ceremony. Please dress appropriately with your cap and gown (dress shoes, dress pants, etc). There will be no wearing of inappropriate items or any alterations of approved graduation apparel (lettering on caps and gowns, etc.). If you have additional questions, please stop by the high school office. Any student in violation of these rules will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. If you have a handicapped member in your family, we ask that you contact the school and let us know so we can reserve a seat for them at graduation. You MUST call the office by Tuesday, May 13th. Listed below is a schedule of events for graduation day. Sincerely, Carrie J. Griffith Principal SCHEDULE OF EVENTS - Friday, May 16, 2025: 10:00 AM on Friday, May 16th: Parade of Graduates - Students should check in with a staff member near the entrance to the library at 9:45 AM. Bring your cap and gown. You will be wearing it. After you are done and have completed your checklist you are free to leave. 10 AM on Friday May 16th: Graduation Practice - Students should check in with a staff member near the entrance to the gym between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM. You MUST be at practice to attend Graduation. *In order to participate in the commencement ceremony at 2:00 PM, you must attend practice. 1:00 PM: Preparation for Commencement – Students should meet in the band room at 1:00 PM to prepare for the graduation ceremony. Students MUST park their vehicles in the Community Room Parking Lot to save other parking for the students’ families. 2:00 PM: Graduation Ceremony begins!
