Dear Staunton Families,

Our students take federally required assessments every spring. These assessments help us understand how our students are growing academically, compared to their peers across the state. The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) assesses progress of students in grades 3-8 in meeting the Illinois Learning Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Additionally, the IAR:

  • Provides a measure of college and career readiness for students.

  • Contains high-quality test items that measure the full range of state adopted standards.

  • Assists educators in supporting student learning.

  • Makes use of technology in assessments, and advances accountability at all levels.

All students will be taking the IAR online using their school provided Chromebook.  We encourage all of our students to do their best on the testing.  As always, we thank you for your support.

Elective remote learners will be required to take the IAR test as well.  School staff will contact the families of elective remote learners with further information.

Testing Start Dates

  • 3rd - 5th Grade: April 26th

  • 6th and 7th Grade: April 19th

  • 8th Grade: April 12th
