Important Announcment

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak evolves we must be adaptable as we gain new information and recommendations from health and state officials. To that end, there will be no student attendance on Monday, March 16, 2020. This measure is being taken for the safety of our students and to provide an opportunity for staff to make final preparations for the continuity of services for our students. The executive order to close all schools through March 30, 2020 remains in place. Following is additional information for your knowledge and guidelines for you to follow. 

School Office Hours - Monday, March 15, 2020     10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 

  • Families and students are requested to not report to school facilities prior to 10:00 a.m. In the event of an emergency that requires you to report to campus please call ahead with reasons. Your need will be solved by telephone if at all possible. In the event that it cannot be solved, permission to come to campus will be granted. 

  • School Facilities will be open to students and families of students from 10:00a.m.-4:00 p.m. based on the following conditions:

    • All school entry procedures apply: visitors and students must buzz in through the secure entrance of each building and must check-in at the office. 

    • Schools will be open for students and families who still need to pick up continued learning kits (CLKs), chromebooks and personal belongings to do so. CLKs will be located in each office. Building principals will follow up with additional information. Permission will be granted for students to obtain any personal items and chromebooks from their lockers. 

    • Do not report to teacher classrooms. These areas are off limits to visitors and students. 

    • Student medications will be available via building offices and the  nurse’s office. If you do not have means of transportation to come to school in order to pick up medications please contact Nurse Hughes and a delivery service will be made available to you. 

    • All students and visitors are to exit the campus immediately after obtaining your materials and belongings. 

Faculty and Staff

All faculty and staff will report to their assignments on Monday, 3/15/2020. More detailed information will follow in separate communications to faculty and staff. 

We understand the unknown and uncertainty of this situation leads to many questions. As we move forward we at Staunton Schools will continue to communicate with you. Your adaptability and understanding is needed and appreciated as we move forward together as partners.
