Staunton CUSD 6 Families:

The IL Department of Public Health has updated the COVID-19 Exclusion Guidance for Schools as of September 29, 2021.  The link below will take you to the Decision Tree for excluding symptomatic individuals from school.

Symptoms for exclusion include: Fever (100.4°F or higher), new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, new loss of sense of taste or smell, fatigue from unknown cause, muscle or body aches from unknown cause.

*School health officials should exclude when suspicion of COVID is high due to other symptoms.*

Listed here are Staunton CUSD #6 personnel’s interpretation of changes to the Decision Tree from previous guidance from IDPH:

  • Home test kits will no longer be accepted as proof of a COVID-19 test result.

  • Testing is strongly recommended for all persons with COVID-19 like symptoms, regardless of vaccination status.

  • If your child is symptomatic and excluded from school, he/she must have a negative test result to return, even if a doctor provides an alternative diagnosis.

  • A rapid COVID-19 test result will be accepted if it is administered by an authorized COVID-19 testing facility (i.e. doctor’s office, health department, pharmacy).
