Staunton CUSD #6 Families:
This release is to inform you that Staunton School District will be closed for in person instruction through August 29, 2021 . Based on current information, students not under a quarantine order may return to school for in person instruction on Monday, August 30, 2021.
Any Staunton student who attends a Mt. Olive or Gillespie classroom will be expected to attend school, as those districts are open for in person instruction.
The School District has been in direct contact with the Macoupin County Public Health Department as well as the Illinois Department of Public Health regarding our recent increase in positive cases. Due to the increase, the school district has been advised to implement an adaptive pause for in person instruction. An adaptive pause for in person instruction will allow the school custodial staff time to thoroughly sanitize with the goal to help slow any further spread of COVID. The adaptive pause means that all students will be full remote learning while the building is closed.
The School District encourages all community members to maintain safe social distances, wear masks in public when social distancing cannot be maintained and wash your hands so that we may all help our students return to school safely.
All students will follow the Full Remote Learning schedule listed below starting Monday, August 23rd. All District teachers will utilize Schoology and/or have packets available for pick up on Monday, August 23rd. Friday, August 20th is a Remote Planning Day for staff to prepare materials for next week and students do NOT need to log in to Schoology.
Effective immediately, all district extracurricular activities are canceled through Sunday, August 29th. All coaches or sponsors will communicate with students about plans going forward.

REMOTE LEARNING INFORMATION:
All students are expected to use Schoology for remote learning. Students can use their school issued electronic device to access Schoology. Some teachers will also be creating and passing out packets of materials that students can use next week. Pickup times for these packets will be sent out soon.

Students are expected to login to Schoology and/or complete assignments in order to be marked present for the school day.
Students in Grades Pre-K - 5 will receive communication from their teacher on a schedule for direct instruction using Conferences in Schoology.
- Students in Grades 6 - 8 will follow the below listed period schedule and login to Conferences using Schoology if their teacher is hosting a conference:
- 1st Period: 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM
- 2nd Period: 8:35 AM - 9:05 AM
- 3rd Period: 9:10 AM - 9:40 AM
- 4th Period: 9:45 AM - 10:15 AM
- 5th Period: 10:20 AM - 10:50 AM
- 7th Period : 10:55 AM - 11:25 AM
- 8th Period: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM
- Students in Grades 9 - 12 will follow the below listed period schedule and login to Conferences using Schoology if their teacher is hosting a conference:
- 1st Period: 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM
- 2nd Period: 8:35 AM - 9:05 AM
- 3rd Period: 9:10 AM - 9:40 AM
