During the most recent Board of Education meeting held on January 15, 2020 the Board spent considerable time discussing the current state of facilities as well as plans for the future. The Board approved to apply for a matching maintenance grant that will assist in putting HVAC, specifically air conditioning, into the Staunton Elementary School community room and replacing the exhaust fans in the large gymnasium. The second piece of action was to approve the building committee and administration to move forward in applying for a potential capital development grant that will be for large scale renovations and construction district-wide. In other significant discussion the board discussed adding 2.5 additional teaching positions for next school year as well as a district assistant principal. To learn more about these and other action items please see the summary of minutes on the district website.
