Your child's attendance at school is critical to his/her success in the classroom! This school year, please make every effort to ensure your child is at school on time and attends on a regular basis. In order for an absence to be considered excused, a parent/guardian MUST call the school the morning a student is going to be absent and provide a valid reason for the absence. If a student does not have a valid reason, then the absence will be considered 'unexcused.'
Additionally, consequences will be issued to students for excessive absenteeism or unexcused absences. Also, the Macoupin County Truancy Officer will be informed of any cases that involve excessive absenteeism.
Please use this as an opportunity to talk with your child about the importance of attending school and making school a priority. Please remember, that your child's education is truly his/her key to success moving forward!
