Staunton CUSD #6 Board of Education

During a special meeting held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 the Staunton CUSD #6 Board of Education organized following the April elections. Incumbents Stefanie Legendre and Scott Skertich were joined by new member Derrick Taylor as members who were elected. The remaining incumbent members are Janice Kinder, Kim Peterson, and John Renner. After being sworn in with the Board Member's Oath of Office administered by Kim Peterson, members took their seats and held the election of officers. The new Board President is Kim Peterson. Peterson brings with her 14 years of experience on the board of education. John Renner, who also bring a wealth of experience at 10 years, was elected as vice-president. To round out the slate of officers, Stefanie Legendre, 8 years, was elected as secretary. "Our board brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the district. We are fortunate to have individuals on our entire board who are committed to our schools and bring stability to the district while also attracting highly qualified new candidates," said Superintendent Dan Cox. 

Other business conducted by the board included setting the time and place for regular meetings and to discuss mandated and optional training. 

To close out the meeting the Board discussed the process for filling the vacant seat left open as a result of no candidates running for the position formerly filled by member Dave Lamore.
