Two Scholarships for $1,000 each to be awarded to one traditional college applicant and to one vocational education applicant.  Two $500 Duty and Service Awards for seniors entering the military.  Graduating seniors pick up applications in the guidance office.  Selected applicants will be interviewed by the Hawkins’ family on 5/23/08.

Written application due to Mrs. Brown by May 12, 2008.

George Oehler, Jr. Memorial Scholarship sponsored by Staunton American Legion Post #362

Two $500 scholarships awarded to graduating seniors who plan to attend a post-secondary school.  Applicants must turn in the application form plus a copy of the students Expected Family Contribution from the Federal Student Aid  report.  See the guidance office for applications.

Applications due in the guidance office by May 9, 2008.

Has never attended college or vocational training & is interested in a career in cosmetology.  See counselor for application

Vocational Award

One $2500 award to a graduating senior with financial need planning to attend a vocational/technical school.  Winner chosen on basis of application and personal interview.  See counselor or Industrial Arts teacher for app.

Community Memorial Hospital Ladies
Auxiliary Scholarship

One $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is entering college to pursue education in a health care field.  Applications available in high school guidance office.  Students from Staunton, Livingston, Bunker Hill, Gillespie, Mt. Olive are eligible to apply.

Application must be received by CMH by May 1, 2008.

Patrick B. Heise Memorial Healthcare Scholarship

One $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is entering college to pursue education in a health care field.  Applications available in high school guidance office.

Application must be received by CMH by May 1, 2008.


Jamie Jo Broderick Fernandez Memorial Scholarship for
Ed. majors.

One scholarship offered to SHS graduating senior planning to become a teacher.  Application consists of essay.  See counselor for details.

Essays due to high school counselor by May 2, 2008

Staunton Lions Club Scholarship

Two ($250)  scholarships to eligible seniors enrolled in accredited post-secondary school, including tech or trade school.  Financial need is primary criteria.  Students must submit letter of application and copy of financial aid report.  See
Counselor for scholarship requirement form.

Application must be mailed and postmarked by
May 2, 2008.

Staunton Education Foundation Scholarship

Two ($1,000) scholarships awarded to students pursuing post-secondary education at college, vocational/technical school, business school, law enforcement or fire training.  Applications available in the guidance office.

Application to be returned to the guidance office by

Scholarship

One ($200) scholarship to resident of Macoupin County with a 3.0 GPA planning to study in a field of horticulture.  Application available in the guidance office or online at www.casscomm.com/~twb4201/scholarship.pdf

Lincolnland Legends Education Award in honor of Mrs. Eleanor Gregory

Seniors planning to enter the field of education are eligible for a one-time $500 award for their interest in teaching.  Applications including an essay are available in the guidance office.  See Mrs. Brown for details.

The Selma J.. Hartke Scholarships

Renewable scholarships for Montgomery and Macoupin county students based on financial need.  Special consideration given to students pursuing a career in agriculture or religious studies.  See counselor for application.

Application must be received by board of directors no later than February 29, 2008

Christian College Scholarship Drawing
