Say Something teaches youth how to recognize signs and signals especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and how to Say Something to a trusted adult BEFORE it is too late. It also encourages students to foster a school culture of upstanders and not bystanders.

Check out this Say Something video.

Next week, Staunton High School is participating in this nationwide week of awareness to encourage students to Say Something to prevent violence.  Check out this link to learn more about the Say Something week program.

Wednesday of next week is going to be ‘Wear Green Day’ to raise awareness about this important week and its goal to prevent violence in our school.

Additionally, I am encouraging our students, staff, and families to share pictures on social media using the following hashtags to raise awareness:  #SaySometing #Upstander

We will conclude next week with a presentation in the auditorium on Friday with each class to teach them the warning signs to look for and how to make a report.

Presentation Schedule:

8:15 AM - 9:00 AM - Freshman

9:15 AM - 10:00 AM - Sophomores

10:15 AM - 11:00 AM - Juniors

11:15 AM - 12:00 PM - Seniors

DON’T FORGET to use the Safe School Helpline that we have implemented this school year!
