Do you have a student in the 12th grade? If so, please see the important information below about filing the FAFSA:
File at https://fafsa.ed.gov/
Why should you file your FAFSA on October 1st?
Students who file the FAFSA early receive more than twice as much grant funding -on average- as students who file the FAFSA later.
Colleges have need based aid that is issued on a first come, first served basis.
You have a 0.000014% chance of winning the lottery, but an 85% chance of getting money for college! File the FAFSA to make sure you receive the money you need for college. www.fafsa.ed.gov
What do I do if I need help?
Please know that this process has been simplified recently and should only take you about 30 minutes to complete. However, if you attempt to file and still have questions, you have two options…
Call your college of interest’s financial aid office. They are there to help and will be more than happy to answer any questions.
Attend a FAFSA completion workshop at SHS before or after parent/teacher conferences. There will be an expert on financial aid available to answer your questions and/or guide you through submitting your son/daughter’s FAFSA.
